Analytics

Pods-Blitz provides accurate and always up to date download statistics.

Currently five statistics are implemented:

• Top 10 episodes

• Feed subscribers

• Top episodes within 30 days

• Listeners within 30 days

• Web views within 30 days

The entry page of the analytics module displays the top 10 most downloaded episodes within any chosen timeframe:

You can also see the number of your subscribers (counted by the downloads of your feed(s) on a given day) within any chosen timeframe:

Then there are three pages offering a view into any chosen timeframe of 30 days.

Another page displays the number of listeners within that timeframe (A listener is defined as a download of any episode of the podcast by a distinct IP address.) If more than episode is downloaded from the same IP address, this is only counted once.

Note

In order to get accurate measurements the following rules apply: Downloads from the same IP address (no matter which podcast client is used) on the same day are only counted once. Downloads from known “bots” or “crawlers” (as determined by the HTTP user-agent header) are never counted. If a podcast offers different audio formats (MIME types), downloads of different files for the same episode are also only counted once. (BTW: For privacy reasons, the client IP address is “hashed” before being stored in the database.)
